Is Portside Whitsunday on the big hill?
No, Portside is located on the edge of the main shopping strip 100m level stroll to everything including restaurant, bars, sailing club, shops, the famous Airlie Lagoon and a 15 minute easy walk to Coral Sea Marina. The Port of Airlie is located directly across the Road, with Ferries departing every 45 minutes to the Islands
Do your apartments have Ensuites?
Yes, all apartments two bedroom and larger have an ensuite and main bathroom.
What is your cancellation policy?
If your booking is cancelled 28 days prior to the planned date of arrival, there will be an administration fee of $50.00. If your booking is cancelled less than 28 days prior or following check-in there will be no refund unless and until the apartment is
re-let for the total period of the original booking, or in the case of a No Show.
How far to Sailing Club and Coral Sea Marina?
150 Metre level walk to the Sailing club and 15 minute walk along Centenary Boardwalk to Coral Sea Marina.
Where is the closest Supermarket?
Woolworths Supermarket is located a short 350 metre stroll away from Portside Whitsunday. Or, a walk along Bicentennial boardwalk will have you at Coles supermarket 3.6 klm’s away.
Big W and another 25 specialty shops are located at Whitsunday Plaza (Centro) – approximately a 12 minute drive from our location.
IGA is 1.5km south of Airlie’s main street.
A number of smaller convenience stores are within 60 – 200metres from Portside.
Do you have a restaurant?
We don’t have a Restaurant on site but a variety of excellent restaurants within a short walking distance of Portside are available including side walk café’s, casual dining and A la Carte dining, bars and nightlife.
What do we need to bring & is linen supplied?
All apartments are fully self contained (studio’s kitchenette). An initial complimentary starter kit (tea, coffee, soap, detergents, shampoo/conditioner and toilet rolls etc) is provided for your convenience. All linen is supplied. Complimentary Pool towels are provided on arrival for use during your stay.
How far is Shute Harbour?
Approx 15 minutes drive south east of Airlie Beach
How do we get to Portside from Proserpine Airport (Whitsunday Coast Airport)?
Proserpine Airport is 39.2 klm’s from our door. Whitsunday Taxi Services are available direct from the Airport, or we recommend booking a shuttle transfer which will bring your directly here to Portside Whitsunday.
Bookings are required in advance and prior to your flight landing. We are able to make these bookings for you.
Hamilton Island – is it easy to get from?
All Ferries to Hamilton Island currently depart from The Port of Airlie, directly across the road from Portside Whitsundays.
Ferry transfers are able to be booked directly online via Cruise Whitsunday’s or at the terminal 30 minutes before departure times. Once departed The Port of Airlie, it is approximately 50 minutes to your arrival at Hamilton Island
Daydream Island day trips are also available from Cruise Whitsunday’s, approximately 40 minutes travel time once departed the Port of Airlie
Can you fish close to Portside?
There is a fishing pontoon designated for fishing at Shute Harbour. Fish are also regularly caught off the rock wall at Abel Point Marina and near the Whitsunday Sailing Club (500m from Portside)
Is car parking provided?
Undercover parking is provided for each apartment.
Do you have room safes?
Yes!
Can we see the water and ocean from our apartment?
Every Portside apartment has wide spacious balconies and has views of Pioneer Bay and the Coral Sea.
Is the apartment air conditioned?
For your comfort there is an independent air conditioning unit in all bedrooms plus the living area including ceiling fans in all rooms.
What if we need a car during our stay?
There are a number of different car hire companies locally, along with scooter hire, electric bikes and e-scooters – Short or longer term hire available
Can you organize a cot and stroller?
Porta-cots, high chairs, strollers are available. Numerous baby equipment pieces are also available including car seats & capsules.
Is there tea and coffee in the apartments when we arrive?
A small supply of consumables including tea, coffee, fresh milk, toilet paper and detergents are provided – enough for your first night.
